In September we found out we were expecting identical twins. Mid December our girls were in Stage 2 Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). We had a placental ablation surgery to fix the TTTS. We unfortunately lost one of our girls after this procedure. There was also a complication during the procedure and our survivors amniotic sac was accidentally ruptured. This started an 80 day journey of bed rest for me (58 of these days being in the hospital). I started experiencing regular contractions and signs and symptoms of infection. Therefore, our daughter was born at 31 weeks and 2 days.  She was born via c section and I also had to have a hysterectomy due to complications. Thankfully, our daughter is doing well at this time. We are familiar with the NICU as our first was born at 27 weeks gestation. We are hopeful her stay will be much shorter.
