At 32 weeks, ultrasounds showed IUGR(Growth Restriction). Measuring under the 5%. Due to the IUGR, Violet's mom was put on bedrest in the hospital at 32 weeks. Her BP was monitored closely, she had preeclampsia in her pervious pregnancy. At 34 weeks and 1 day the doctors made the decision to delivery. Violet Mae was born only weighing 3 lbs 8 oz at 34 weeks and 1 day gestational. She was able to be off oxygen assistance after 48 hours. Other than her hemoglobin levels being low, the biggest hurdle in the NICU and now at home is to gain weight. She managed to gain 12 ounces in the NICU. She is currently 4 lbs 5 oz. Violet's mom stayed 15 days in the hospital and Violet stayed 16 days in the NICU. Chelsey (Violet's mom) has had to use over half of her paid PTO before Violet even came home. We are anticipating 3-4 weeks of unpaid PTO needed, now that Violet is finally home. We are praying for continued growth and healthy results from appointments in the upcoming weeks.
