The Evans Family

I am 41 years old and have had diabetes since I was seven. I used to have very good eyesight, but in the last two years my vision has become very poor. I had several surgeries last year on both eyes to repair damage due to diabetic retinopathy, but it was unsuccessful. Even with my glasses, my vision is only 20/200 and I have blind spots in my field of view. I've had to leave my job because I couldn't see to do my job and was afraid of traffic at my job site. I was unable to keep my apartment because I can't pay for it. My room mate is bringing legal action against me because I am unable to pay for my responsiblies. I am losing my car because I cannot see to drive. I was hospitalized for being suicidal. At this point I have hit rock bottom.
