The Katzman Family
Story
On February 17, 2021 I suffered a debilitating injury while performing an emergency extrication of a critical patient while working as a Medic for Detroit Fire / EMS. After a month of dealing with City Doctors, it was discovered that I had 60% spinal cord compression at C4 - C6. After surgery, I have nerve damage in my left arm, and hand stemming from C7. I have gone from a life of being active, loving my job to being at home, attending doctors appointments, MRI's, Xrays, and multiple types of therapy. Given my drastic drop in income, and as much as I hate it and feel embarrassed to, I'm at a point where I need to ask for financial help. I have an 11 year old daughter, and on top of everything I have going on is my #1 priority. I'm solely responsible for her care, housing, education, and extra curricular activities.
