On Saturday Feb 18th, on our way to the cities for the Monster Jam, Leighton began to feel sick and suddenly lost consciousness while in the car. She was then rushed to the closest ER, where they performed a CT Scan and find a tumor on her brain.
She was then quickly transferred by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis for further treatment. They put a tube (EVD) in to drain some of the fluid that was being trapped. While she was sleeping she had pulled the tube out and was then sent back for another emergency surgery to reinstall the drainage tube. Leighton will need another surgery to remove her tumor, and possible chemotherapy/radiation.
