    Name
    Wesley Soltau
    Injury/Illness
    Lymphoma

At the end of November, Ashley (Wesley’s Girlfriend) found a lump on the side of his neck. WE took Wesley to see a local doctor and they sent to Rochester OMC to have a CT scan on the lump. The results from that CT scan came back as an “Abnormally Large Mass” so they were referred to Mayo Clinic. On December 31st, Wesley had a consultation with a doctor at Mayo Clinic and was scheduled for a biopsy. January 7th was the day the Soltau family received the news that Wesley had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The next day Wesley was scheduled all day for many appointments to learn about his diagnosis and to begin working on his treatment plan. After a very long day at Mayo Clinic.  Wesley was first at Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Unfortunately, the doctors had a few additional concerns and decided they needed more tests to make sure his stage was not more advanced. On Sunday, January 10th Wesley was sent for another CT Scan to focus on a small area near his lung. The doctors were not able to determine by the previous scan if the small spot was on his lymph node or if it was on his lung. Monday, January 11th, Wes had surgery to install a central port. After the results came back from the additional scans and bone marrow biopsy Wesley was moved to Stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma due to the spot they were concerned with determined to be in his spleen.
