Story
Struck by Acute Myeloma Leukemia (AML) Cancer.
On September 28th, 2022, I was diagnosed with AML Cancer in my bone marrow after a routine physical. I was told that my life was at risk due to the diagnosis and impairing the healthy growth of red, white and platelet blood cells.
I underwent chemotherapy treatment Immediately at Alina Health-Oncology Institute in Minneapolis to prepare me for a bone marrow transplant. I completed chemotherapy on May 7, 2023, and completed extensive screening tests on June 9, 2023 at US NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. June 21st marks my 12th post-transplant day.
As well as being diagnosed, my spouse, Saskia was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer last year. Tragically, her battle came to an untimely end on June 7th, 2023 when she passed away in the presence of her closest friend.
With the rigorous treatment requirements, I have not worked since my AML diagnosis. I am required to stay in Maryland for medical check ups and GvHD effect monitoring until mid September , and am not allowed to work for at least 6 months after clinical discharge to protect my immune-compromised condition against public virus and bacteria exposure. This diagnosis and treatment has fully depleted my financial reserves and have to explore every source available to help me stay afloat financially to pay the most essential monthly expenses like rent, utilities & phone bill.
I sincerely hope you can find it in your heart to help me cover my basic Minnesota expenses while my out of pocket money goes towards lodging, and meals in Maryland through September. Thank you kindly, in advance, for any contribution consideration to allow me moving forward to restoring my health.
