In Loving Memory of Ryland — A Bright Light Gone Far Too Soon

Ryland was born vibrant, with a smile that could light up any room. She was an intelligent, creative, and deeply loved teen who touched countless hearts. Ryland navigated life as a transgender young woman with tremendous courage and authenticity, working hard to honor herself—beautifully, boldly, and bravely. Her journey inspired compassion in others and reminded us all that everyone deserves to feel safe, affirmed, and valued for who they are.

While we will never fully understand the pain she carried, just a few days before her seventeenth golden birthday, Ryland died by suicide. Her time on earth was far too short, yet the impact she made on those who loved her will never fade. As a family, we choose to honor the strength, resilience, and joy she brought into our lives. The loss of Ryland has left an immeasurable hole in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

As her birthday and Christmas approach, we ask for support in celebrating who Ryland is and in holding her memory close. Donations will help with cremation and memorial expenses. In Ryland’s honor, our family is committed to continuing advocacy for initiatives that uplift LGBTQ+ youth—causes that were deeply important to her. Ryland deserved a world that was gentler and more accepting; our hope is to build one in her name and to help ensure that no other family endures the unimaginable pain that ours carries now.
