The Domagala Family
Our Story
Cooper was born on November 28, 2025. After just 5 hours of life, he experienced respiratory failure and stopped breathing, requiring emergency intervention and transfer to the NICU. What followed was the beginning of a complex medical journey that our family never could have anticipated.
Since birth, Cooper has faced numerous challenges, including hypotonia (low muscle tone), feeding difficulties, aspiration, laryngomalacia, chronic respiratory issues, and recurrent pneumonias. He has undergone extensive testing with specialists across multiple disciplines, including neurology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, ENT, cardiology, genetics, and aerodigestive medicine.
To ensure he receives adequate nutrition safely, Cooper relies on a GJ feeding tube and continuous feeds. He requires daily respiratory support, airway clearance treatments, suctioning of secretions, and ongoing monitoring to help him breathe comfortably and prevent infections.
Despite countless hospitalizations, procedures, appointments, and unanswered questions, Cooper continues to show incredible strength and resilience. His medical team believes there may be an underlying neurological or developmental cause contributing to many of his challenges, and additional genetic testing and evaluations remain ongoing.
Today, Cooper is six months old and continues to fight every day. While we still do not have all the answers, we remain hopeful as we work alongside his care team to help him grow, develop, and thrive. We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, encouragement, and support that have carried our family through this journey.
