The Jackson Family
Our Story
Greetings, my name is Daphney, and my daughter received emergency care in November 2025 for a suicide attempt. We were totally blindsided because she’d hidden her distress well. The over-thinking, self-harm, and moments of deep sorrow that we didn’t come to learn of until after the fact. We are grateful to God that our daughter survived the attempt.
During our daughters time of treatment, she received care from a total of six providers, two hospitals, one behavioral health facility, two EMS transportation services, and a radiology facility. Unfortunately, she lost Medicaid coverage at the beginning of October because our income didn't quality for the state’s requirement and we couldn't add her to our employer health insurance until open enrollment period in January.
We were hoping that nothing would happen “in between” the time of loss of coverage and re-gaining coverage, but unfortunately, that was not our story. The total cost of care provided to our daughter during this traumatic time has equated to roughly $23,000. Unfortunately, it would be very difficult to pay in addition to our regular and everyday financial responsibilities. Like many Americans, we literally live paycheck to paycheck.
In our last effort to obtain help, we are humbly asking you to consider partnering with our family to pay off the expenses accumulated as a result of this unfortunate event. We really would like to resolve this debt but need all the help we can get. Thank you for your consideration.
