The Gore Family
Our Story
Mom suffered a 50% placental abruption and emergency C-section on April 25th. Elias was delivered not breathing, without a heartbeat, and with a diagnosis of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE). He was placed in the NICU on a ventilator where he also developed Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN). One week later, he had to be put on ECMO life support for 6 days. Thankfully, his lungs have improved, but he still needs lots of support from specialists in Neurology, Speech, PT, and OT as we continue to wait out our time in the NICU.
Family Updates
After 7 long weeks in the NICU we are finally home at last!! Elias has some signs of Dysphagia so feeding is still sometimes a struggle. We are so thankful for the donations we have received and continue to thankful to everyone as the bills are starting to come in. Thank you for you prayers, support and generosity through this journey.
