The Ochotorena Family
Our Story
Sina was born 5 weeks early due to growth restrictions and having a dilated kidney. Sina was 3 lbs 11 oz and spent 5 weeks in the NICU, where she developed a severe milk allergy that caused her to be placed on an expensive formula. Sina was able to come home on May 12th. Since being home has developed severe acid reflux causing breathing concerns and placed on medications. In a few weeks, she will have a follow up appointment in Sioux Falls, which is 3 hours away from home, to determine if surgery is needed to fix the blockage from her bladder to kidney.
Home health care nurses come to the home once a week for check ups and monitor her weight. Maternity leave ends the beginning of July and her kidney appointment is not until the end of July to determine if surgery in needed and not able to start daycare yet. This will cause her mom to take an extended leave from work. Sina has 2 older brothers who are enjoying spending time with her. Any donations will help with bills during this difficult time is greatly appreciated.
