I've always been a real independent person that has focused on helping others before myself. That abruptly came to an end on the early morning of August 18th, when coming home from work. I intervened when I saw a close friend's truck was being taken without permission. 

When I approached the truck, I stepped up on running board and my foot got hung up. As I tried to open the door, the driver accelerated with my leg stuck. As I begged for him to stop, he proceeded to flee. When I was able to break my foot free from the running board, it went under his back tire and threw me under the gooseneck trailer, He ran over the left side of my body, but he continued and didn't even stop to check if I was okay. From there, I spent over 3 weeks in the hospital and the better part of the month in and out of doctors and hospitals. 

One month after the accident, my house burned down suddenly and was a total loss. I'm currently living in a tent next to my burnt house with my legs still severely damaged, I'm not even able to function. I can't fend for my kids or my animals or for myself. Everything in my life came to an abrupt stop and the harsh reality of not having people to stand by me became clear. I've always liked to think of myself as somebody who would give the shirt off my back if it's all I had to offer and still to this day would do the same even in my current situation. I've had enough of catastrophes in the last 30 days and would like to see a little hope somewhere. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
