Anvy’s Journey: Fighting Breast Cancer with Strength and Grace
At just 30 years old, I received a diagnosis that no one ever expects—ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a form of breast cancer. I am a devoted mother to my young son, Eyan, who is autistic and currently receives speech, occupational, and ABA therapy. My world revolves around love, resilience, and care.
My journey began with persistent pain in my breasts. Despite no lumps being found during my initial exam, my doctors recommended a mammogram. It was during that screening that they discovered a cluster of suspicious calcifications. A biopsy soon confirmed the presence of DCIS. While I is grateful that the cancer was caught early and doesn’t require chemotherapy, I now face the emotional and physical challenge of undergoing a mastectomy, which would cause me to be out of work for nearly two months.
