Our Story
On July 4th my fiancé had to call 911 and I was rushed by ambulance to Mercy Hospital, where they found I suffered an anoxic brain injury. I was then admitted into ICU and kept sedated until July 6th. I was discharged on July 7th to my fiance. I have no memory of what happened for decent amount of time before the accident and I don’t remember anything before July 15th.
I am still recovering from the brain injury and have not been released. I am not allowed to return to work due to memory problems and having a hard time using my hands. I knock things over, drop things and can’t feel things when I go to grab them. I am also not completely stable on my feet yet and a bit wobbly. Since I work in construction, it's very unsafe to return to work in my current condition.
I am seeing my primary care regularly and doing occupational therapy. They recently found an aneurysm on my brain so I’ll be seeing a neurosurgeon soon as well. My fiancé and I have 3 children at home ages 10,11 and 15. My fiancé has been taking care of all of us and getting me to doctor appointments, and assisting with medications. Since I am the primary provider and unable to return to work, we have no income coming in. We are having a hard time right now with bills and necessities since my fiance cannot work with having to take care of me and the kids.
With school is fixing to start, we can’t get the kids what they need and have no more funds for gas to get to and from my appointments. I am just needing a little assistance for my little family until I can return to work fully and back to full time employment. I appreciate your consideration and any assistance that’s provided. Thank you, The Jackson Family
