Oliver was born at 29 weeks, about two and a half months before his due date. His mother was diagnosed with preeclampsia and the doctors decided it would be better both for mother and baby if they delivered early. He was born on June 21, 2025. He has been in the NICU now going on 3 months. Our NICU is about 60 miles away from where we live. We are going there as often as we can because we know being present will help speed along his recovery. He is currently struggling with weaning off his oxygen which is extending his NICU stay for longer than the doctors had originally thought. We pushed some bills to the side to keep funding gas and food in st cloud to keep going to see our child. Heather was also not at work for 10 weeks to recover from the c-section which has also added to our financial stress.
