The Berisha Family
Story
Hi,
Meet our beautiful baby boy, Arian! He was born on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/2019, originally due on January 21, 2020. My water bag ruptured at 32 weeks and we received the best blessing of our lifes. He is 4lb 6oz, 17.5" long.
He is currently in the NICU working on lung development, body temperature and sucking/swallowing skills. Right now his feeding is done through his nose. We hope to get him home as soon as possible, but he could be there until my original due date.
He is so sweet and cuddly, we can’t wait to be able to take him home. It is so hard to see him in there everyday, and also see other people walk out of the hospital with their little ones. There are no words to describe the feeling. For now we have care visits every 3 hours around the clock 12/3/6/9. We are there every day for multiple visits. They may let me live in for a few weeks for breastfeeding which will be great! I feel for anyone going through this, it can be pretty overwhelming mentally, but it is all worth it.
I am pretty disappointed for the company I work for, when updating my maternity leave, they took away 2 weeks pre-partum, told me I will lose my vacation days for the rest of the year and include Holiday and days the company is closed into the leave which really cuts my time short on the back-end. I am taking full FMLA (unpaid, I believe 3-4 checks) because I really need the time with him when he is home. I wish instead of taking my time away they would add it to the back end. Right now I run back and forth to the hospital with no time in between to get everything organized. This was an unforeseen event and I wish they would be more understanding.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
