A couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After sharing the diagnosis with my employer, I was terminated the following day. I was living paycheck to paycheck as it was and the sudden termination was a huge blow to my mental health. I have no other source of income to support myself and 13 year old daughter. It’s difficult to focus on what treatment to begin when I have rent and all the other regular bills due.
