River was born at 34 weeks and 4 days gestation (6 weeks early). I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and was in the hospital for 4 days leading up to his birth. He was born via c-section at 3:55 am with two holes in his heart and a hernia. He weighed 3 pounds, 6 ounces and immediately taken to NICU. He was put on a CPAP, feeding tube, and a PIC line. He stayed in the NICU for 25 long days, slowly got stronger everyday, and able to wean off his machine and his other tubes/IVs. With all of this happening I haven’t been able to work because of needing to be there and needing to heal from my surgery.
