Waverly was diagnosed with VEO IBD at approximately 2 months old after experiencing bloody stools and failure to thrive. During a routine colonoscopy, she experienced intestinal perforation, which resulted in her receiving an ostomy while her IBD is treated and her intestines heal. No specific cause has been found yet for her illness although we continue to research what has caused her illness.
