We were blessed with to identical little boys. We have a 9 year old boy, soon to be 8 year old girl and a little boy that will be 2 in September. Our new arrivals were born at 35 weeks 2 days and have been doing ok in the NICU but are struggling with eating. A swallow text will be done soon to see what is going on and maybe an ENT referral. They have been in the hospital for almost 5 weeks now and we don’t know when they will be able to come home. Also, they both will need surgery at approximately 6 months old for another issue. This has been very hard for our family but we know they are in excellent care! I finally got to hold both of them yesterday for the first time :)

    Four Months

This week the boys will be 4 months old. They seem to be acting as opposites! They have PT and OT that come everyother week. Also, a nurse that comes weekly to help with their cares. Colton is struggling to gain weight again. Next week we will be deciding on their surgery date. Please keep ya in your prayers since we are struggling financially with everyday expenses.

    Update

Our boys are now 11 weeks old (6 adjusted) ... Feeding is still a struggle and so many changes. With feeling discouraged they are mostly on fortified AR formula. They do not latch and supply of breastmilk is going down. They choke, arch their backs and refuse to eat just so they can breath. Developmentally they are growing on the slow scale but still gaining weight everyday. Cooper actually weighs more than Colton this last Wednesday! Just a half ounce more :). Uriology will see the boys again in November to schedule their surgery. We are still undecided if we will do both boys at the same time.
