Kenny is an 18-year-old who is diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a rare non curable genetic disease. It has primarily affecting his lungs, however, the impact to his other organs has also resulted in pancreatic insufficiency requiring diabetes management.  As the COVID-19 pandemic began Kenny was isolated to his home to avoid crowds. His primary care provider, his grandmother, left her employment to reduce further risk to Kenny, as contact with people outside the home would put him at high-risk with his health state.  With reduced income in 2020 and Kenny's ongoing decline in lung function it was necessary to consider bilateral lung transplant.  On 8/9/2022 Kenny received his new lungs and has been recovering nicely since.  With the impact of COVID-19 and expenses surrounding pre- and post lung transplant; Kenny and his grandmother have been struggling financially. For Kenny, his home environment is vital to ensuring his continued lung health. The financial aspect has had the greatest impact throughout this journey and trying to maintain the mortgage payments.
