The Hull Family
Our Story
Lara Hull was diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome sensory autonomic variant. this was diagnosed by neurology on 11/29/2024 after extensive testing including imaging laboratory assessment including lumbar puncture and electromyography. Lara was in acute inpatient rehab at ARC Fairview Health until 12/13/2024 and was transferred to Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Golden Valley Mn where she is currently at. She is wheel chair bound and is expected to be either wheel chair bound or having to use a walker for up to a year or more which will effect her ability to work. I have my advanced esthetician degree but this disease has effected my ability to stand and walk and my motor skills in my hands so Imay not be able to return to this profession. I currently have no income sources,
Lara was born in Marshalltown Iowa on 12/20/1994, She has lived and worked in Minnesota for approximately seven years. She has an older sister named Lindsay and parents Jonathan and Chris and dog Murphy.
Family Updates
After 100 days being in the hospital and rehabilitation, Lara came back to her apartment with us (her parents) to live and go to outpatient therapy at Courage Kenny. The first week was great! There were some living adjustments that had to be made with three adults and a big Airedale dog in a small area! The next week was not so great. We all got RSV. For Lara, this could trigger her Guillain Barre symptoms to flare up again. Today, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. Lara is currently on two antibiotics and a nebulizer with medication. She has noticed a little change in her legs- a “buzzing” or “electricity” feeling in them. We will have to keep a close eye on any physical changes as Lara may need more intravenous medication to combat GBS. Please keep those prayers coming! ♥️

This is Lara leaving Courage Kenny. From hospital stay to 2 different rehabilitation centers, Lara was an inpatient for 100 days! She has now returned to her apartment with her parents to help care for her. Lara has started outpatient therapy at Courage Kenny and will be working hard for 8-10 weeks. She can now use a walker and arm canes to walk short distances, but still has to use her wheelchair. Lara is making progress!
Thank you for all your donations We are able to stay in her apartment and have her receive outpatient therapy at the very best place! ❣️
Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to our daughter's account! Words cannot express our gratitude to you for helping us during this challenging time. We cannot see who has donated or the amount. Whether it is a financial contribution, a prayer, card or note, we are so very blessed and thankful. Please feel free to share Lara's story and campaign information.
Lara continues to make progress and is working hard to do all the little things in life we take granted every day- like tying our shoes!
Thank you, again, for your support!!
