In June 2025, our family suffered the devastating loss of my husband's brother to suicide. His 16-year-old daughter (our niece), Illy, came to stay with us We renovated to provide the space and everything she needed to feel safe and at home. We have been pursuing permanent custody of Illy so she can continue to have the stable, loving home she deserves. 

Since coming to live with us, we have learned that Illy has experienced significant medical challenges. She is now receiving ongoing therapy, and we remain committed to providing the support and stability she needs to heal.

The financial burden of this unexpected journey has made it difficult to keep up with our household expenses. As parents of three children already, we are requesting financial assistance with our mortgage payments so we can maintain a safe, stable home for all our children, including Illy, while we continue the custody process and support her recovery.
