The Martinez Family

Yesterday, the angels came and took one of their own back to heaven. Little Leola got very sick over the weekend with her intestines, and little body couldn't handle anymore stress. June 8th at 4:40pm Leola Annette Margaret Martinez left this world to join her grandfather and great-grandfather Martinez in heaven. She touched so many in her short stay in the NICU in Rochester, MN. Many of the nurses and staff were heartbroken. She will be sorely missed.

So we're back in Rochester so far until Tuesday thanks to TCMN, had some funding left for another 4 days lodging. Alot has changed since we left. Baby Leola had to be placed back on the ventilator, which wouldn't be uncommon, a possible infection somewhere in her body has her not feeling so well, but she's on antibiotics and still doing okay. Time and patience will heal all wounds.

Leola is knocking down all the odds for her age. Yesterday they removed her breathing tube, and 8 hours later they removed the O2 and she is thriving on her own with only a bi-pap. She is our little miracle.
