    Name
    Zachary McKeever
    Injury/Illness
    Cancer

Zachary was diagnosed with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma in April, 2018, just a few days before his 8th birthday. His initial treatment plan included three surgeries, five rounds of induction chemotherapy, two rounds of consolidation chemotherapy, double autologous stem cell bone marrow transplants, radiation, and six rounds of immunotherapy. After 15 months of treatment, around 140 days of hospitalization, and countless clinic appointments and blood draws, Zachary completed treatment cancer-free in July, 2019. After a year and a half of follow up scans and clinic checks, we were devastated to find out in January, 2021 that Zachary's cancer has returned. He has since undergone more scans and biopsies, as well as his first round of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment during a week-long hospital stay. He will continue a schedule of one week in the hospital and two weeks off and re-evaluate as his treatment progresses.

Zachary has two older brothers and a younger sister, and this news has hit all of us very hard, especially during the COVID pandemic, as only one of us can be at the hospital with him and his siblings, grandparents, and friends are not allowed to visit. We are praying for another miracle and holding out hope that his amazing team at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital can save him again.
