The Mohr Family

Haakyn was diagnosed with Stage 3 Wilms Tumor Pediatric Cancer in January 19th when a tumor was discovered growing off his kidney.  He quickly went through surgery at Childrens to remove his kidney and tumor within hours.  He since has recovered and has been through Radiation treatments and is currently going through Chemotherapy treatments as a five year old.  Making sure Haakyn has the support of his family around him and the time commitment of appointments and treatments have caused both parents to miss a lot of work to care for him.  Since Dads job is out of state, he is on a leave so that he can spend this precious time with Haakyn  as well.  This has caused an incredible financial strain for the family.  Insurance hasn't covered some of the treatments, medication and nutrition that Haakyn has needed along the way, all adding to the burden.  No child should have cancer, siblings should not have to understand cancer and parents should not have to watch their young child endure something as terrible as cancer.
