My name is Brendabell Njee, Ph.D. I am a 51 yr old African American woman.  I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had my first lumpectomy with a second surgery coming up because of some invasive cancer cell from a pathology test result. 

Before being diagnosed with breast cancer, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and other comorbid. My husband who is 57, has also had 3 brain surgeries,  is currently not working. I was the one working to pay the bills, but it has been difficult to work fulltime with the cancer treatments.

We live in a single-family home, behind on our mortgage payments, and fear we might lose our house if we do not make payments. We are also behind with utility bill payments with our energy being disconnected recently because of past dues payments. We will be grateful for any support to assist us while I go through the cancer treatment.
