Life itself is simply beautiful ride!

Never take a moment, a smile, laugh or memory for granted. Life is simple and life is short, and everything can change in the blink of an eye.

With being granted the gift of pregnancy, everything seemed to be normal, regular and expected... until after a simple doctor visit. On May 17th, we went in for a short doctors visit at our regular clinic. Before we could blink or even think twice, we were being admitted to the Children's hospital (Mother Baby Center) at just under 24 weeks pregnant. And there we sat and prepared for the possibility of having our little one arrive very early. At the time, we were being treated for preterm labor, not quite realizing that our first child could actually be born within the next week; until the moment happened. The moment came when we realized our newest and most rewarding journey was about to start. After 5 days hospitalized, a regular Saturday turned into the start of a roller coaster day we never could have envisioned. As our Saturday started off slow, and in the hospital, before we knew it we progressed into labor and ending in a csection. Baby girl was born early in the morning at 12:06am and weighed 1lb 9oz. She measured 13 1/2 inches long and is already our courageous princess and fighting warrior! Her name is Willow and as we like to say, our Willow Warrior.

As Willow was born at 24 1/2 weeks gestational age, almost 16 weeks early, the doctors admitted her to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  This is where Ms. Willow and her parents will be for the summer as the Doctors are projecting her to stay in the NICU until at least her due date, September 6th. When she was born, this was very intimidating as the weeks were counted, this would be at least a 16 week stay if everything went as expected. Every day, Willow gets to hear her parents' voices and sometimes even open an eye to see what is all going on. We are graciously taking each day as it comes, and loving every day we share as a family of three. As a result, a life changing journey brings on new life perspectives, grows emotions, and enhances personal connections. Not every day is easy, not all questions can be answered, but every heart can be cared for.

As we go through the next three months+  in the NICU with Willow,  we are not given a specific date to bring her home or a magical cure to heal all her needs but we are given those people to surround us with their love and compassion. If you would like to support our family and newest journey, we will forever be grateful. ❤️

Willow's First Month of Life! ❤️

Over the last month, Ms. Willow has gained over a pound of weight, opened her eyes, has been blessed with baptism, received her first vaccine and has impressed us every single day with the many simple, yet impressive milestones a micro-premie can accomplish. Born a whole 16 weeks early, she continues to be strong with her small yet very large milestones.
