At a routine 20 week ultrasound, it was discovered that I was 1cm dilated, had a 0.1mm cervix, and was actively contracting. I was hospitalized for monitoring over the holiday weekend for 3 days before being allowed to return home. The day after discharge, our sweet girl Kira was delivered early at barely 25 weeks gestational age. 

I could only afford to take 4 weeks off because I didn't have PTO. My first trimester was a difficult one and I was out of work for weeks, that used up most of my PTO before my second trimester came around. We could barely pay all our bills. 

When Kira finally comes home, in order to bond, my husband and I will have to take unpaid leave. We have no idea how we will manage, but we know that spending time with our baby is the most important thing we could do for her.  Thank you for any support, it is greatly appreciated!
