Well, I guess I should start off by saying that my brother, Curtis and I were raised in an extremely abusive home. This cause both of us to suffer from severe mental illness but never received the treatment we should have as children. My brother was a hard worker, very generous, kind, loved anything that was outdoor, and had a great sense of humor. 

He was married at one time, but after finding out they couldn't have children, they soon divorced. After the divorce, his mind went somewhere dark and he felt like life was not worth living anymore. It was much more than just depression. He began to make poor decisions, isolated himself, lost his job, and became uninterested in anything that he used to enjoy. 

I was unable to get him into a mental health facility due to the lack of health insurance, but we were able to get him into an outpatient program. It just wasn't enough, or it wasn't soon enough. In February of 2026, he died by suicide. I found out a few days later that he had sold our property and was informed by the new owner that I would need to vacate.

Since then, I've moved into my son's basement until I can figure out what to do as I am on disability and am suffering from leukemia , lymphocytic lymphoma, I'm on insulin and enzyme therapy due to failing pancreas and continue to struggle with my own mental illness.
