Hi, my name is Trish Riggs. I was a paramedic for 13 years and diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Carcinoma in 2020. I've had multiple surgeries because this cancer does not respond to conventional treatments, including chemotherapy to help with my carcinoid symptoms. I have been unable to work for the past 3 years, causing me to sell everything I can, and having to fight for disability, just to get by. I don't ask for handouts and have always been a 'suffer in silence' type of person because I believe everybody has their own problems they are dealing with. My situation has become so overwhelming and I have run out of options for financial help. I am just reaching out to ask for help to keep the roof over my head. My portion of rent is $550/month and I am hoping to raise enough to secure the next year, so I can focus on recovering from this last major cancer surgery I had on May 8th.
