The Sanchez Family
Story
My husband Candelario (Cande) was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer in May of 2021. In the meantime, he has undergone a ton of chemo which he is still doing. In October of 2021 there was a failed Whipple procedure done at that time we were told that the only thing left was radiation. We were not going to settle for that, so we got a second opinion from a Surgeon who specializes in Pancreatic Cance at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN that was in December of 2021. In April of 2022 he had about 5 weeks of radiation. Then in June of 2022 He had his pancreas, gallbladder, and spleen removed. Spent about 6 weeks In Mn, about 4 weeks he was in and out of the hospital fight infection and just recovering. October 2022, we found out that the cancer had metastasized to the lungs. November he was enrolled in a clinical trial. Started that in January 2023 had 1 cycle which is 1 day a week for 3 weeks and off 1 week of Chemo and a clinical drug. During his week of in January he developed sepsis and was in the hospital for 2 weeks. He didn't get any treatments until mid-March. During his time off there was growth however our Dr. said not to be surprised. We are still in the trial, and he had scans in June and there was shrinkage and stabilization, also the abacist that was in his liver that caused the sepsis was gone.
In the meantime, with all the chemo he has developed neuropathy. Our insurance will not cover the cost of the treatment and equipment to reverse the neuropathy. He has lost about 45% feeling in his feet and 25% in hands. In order to continue treatment and have a better quality of life having this treatment would require your generosity no matter how big or small it would be a blessing to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and Peace and Blessings to you all.
