    Injury/Illness
    Leukemia

I was diagnosed with leukemia a year ago, and It's been a bumpy ride. I was in the ICU for a week and the hospital a month. A couple chemotherapy treatments later, I was back again in the hospital for a week. I had several bone marrow biopsies and chemo spinal taps. Those were quite painful. I am in remission now and am being monitored by my oncologist. My medical bills are now starting to hit me hard so i am struggling to pay everything. Thank you!

    Solar Eclipse

The solar eclipse is tomorrow and i am excited we get totality here in this part of texas. We can watch from the front yard! I added a picture of my black cat for a blacked out sun. It seems everywhere was passing out glasses but we bought some. What a waste. It makes me think of all the bills i have rolling in. They just haven't stopped. It seems like every month here is something. It also makes me wonder what my insurance paid! Ugh! The life of being sick.

    My Next Problem

I was diagnosed with lukemia 1 year ago. Recently i found out because of the lukemia i am now in congestive heart failure. I had a heart cath procedure done and i am now waiting to hear the results. My follow up is on April 10th. I am very anxious and i am having a hard time concentrating and sleeping. I just think this cant be real that i have cancer and now heart failure. What could be in store next? I am trying to stay positive!!

    My Rock

My wife has been my rock through my cancer journey. She has showed compassion and unlimited listening to me. I think that has helped me the most. She doesn't pretend to know what im going through but she will find out answers for me. She calls my oncologist and nurses for me when i need her to. She's been amazing at telling me what happened in the ICU (There for 1 week) and the hospital (there for 1 month). I dont remember that time period very well. She came to visit me at the hospital every day after work and all weekend. She even helped me shower and get dressed when i was having difficulties. After i came home from the hospital she made sure i plenty of activities i could do with my chemo brain. Yes, it's A real thing.

    Silly Picture

Hello everybody! This was me being silly in the hospital.  I was there for a month, so i had to keep my spirits up! I had a good friend send me snacks while i was there and it made me feel special. There are several agencies out there that will send free boxes of goodies to cancer patients. They are awesome to receive.

I have just started to venture out into the world of cancer related activities.  I have been to groups, art therapy, and strengthening exercises, among other activities.  I am enjoying the company and compassion.  I have not met many people with lukemia, however. I am missing that connection.  I am going strong though!!
