The Xiong Family
Story
Hi! On May 25th, our little Miss Ava started to feel sick and was vomiting, after 24 hours of not getting better and still vomiting, we took her to the Urgency Care in Woodbury per our primary clinics suggestion to get her blood checked out and see if she was hydrated. From there on, our wise nightmare was confirmed that she was more sicker than we had initially thought. The next couple hours turned out to be a 6 day stay at Children's Minnesota in Minneapolis as it was confirmed that our baby girl had Leukemia! Our 16 year old daughter just recently started having seizures 2 weeks before Ava became sick as well, our world turned upside down quickly. Ava will be receiving chemotherapy for the next 2 years along with getting OT, PT and Speech Therapy as she is also delayed in that area. I (mom) will have to take leave from work to be able to watch Ava 24/7 as the doctor recommended an adult be with her at all times. She is doing good with medications, though she does get easily angry and throw her tantrums, we know it's only the meds creating such. We know with mom being out of work, it'll create a big hardship on alot of bills. Please help us in this time of need if you can. Thank you!
