What could be better than a charity golf tournament for Halloween?
On Monday, October 30th, Talia (Spare Key’s Director of Events) and myself made the trek down to St. Louis to work with one of our favorite organizations in the state of Missouri and take part in their annual charity golf tournament!
Many of you may remember a blog I wrote in June named “Growing in the State of Missouri”. In this article, I wrote about what comes AFTER being registered to help families in a new state. Long story short… it’s a lot of work! And we couldn’t do it without the incredible individuals on Spare Key’s Board of Directors, hospital partnerships and so many generous companies that spread our mission to their networks.
One of those generous organizations is the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) of St. Louis.
This organization has chosen Spare Key to be their featured charity the last three years! This means, we get to share our mission with their members at various meetings throughout the year, and that we get to help and join in on the fun at their Annual Golf Outing!
Each year, the MBA of St Louis welcomes members, partners, friends, and volunteers to its Annual Golf Outing. This scramble is a daylong event filled with games, meals, awards, contests and SO much more! The sponsors of this golf outing each year, along with the golf committee ensures that participants are entertained all day long.
This year’s tournament was held at a golfer favorite venue: the Whitmoor Country Club! Attendees and sponsors LOVE this course for its flexibility in letting sponsors get creative with that they give away at their holes! And that’s exactly what happened! Between the amazing location and the tournament being held on Monday, October 30th (the day before Halloween!) – we were SO excited to see what sponsors came up to promote their organizations! From a boozy putting contest to decorated holes and other games throughout the course, golfers had spooky surprises around each turn! Spare Key even had our own Halloween themed ring toss game!
Oh and let’s not forget the entire day was HALLOWEEN themed – which resonated with this Halloween birthday gal’s heart! From décor contests to costume contests – attendees and volunteers had a fun even in the CHILLY temperatures!
So as you can see, we were SO incredibly excited to return to this Annual Golf Tournament again this year! Partially because it was a BLAST, and Halloween is one of my FAVORITE holidays of the year!
But, more importantly for what it symbolizes. Spare Key’s Help Me Bounce program is growing.
Spare Key is consistently helping more families facing devastating medical crises throughout the nation each month. This growth would NOT be possible without the help of countless individuals, partners, and companies. People that share our mission and tell their network HOW we can help families in THEIR communities. Companies that sponsor events and the Help Me Bounce program to ensure we continue to raise the funds needed to keep serving families. And partners that advocate for Spare Key every day by donating, volunteering, and ensuring families facing medical crisis know that we are here to help.
No matter the illness or injury.
No matter the age or income level.
AND no matter where they live throughout the nation.
